Santa Came Early This Year
It’s only December 9th, but we’ve been good developers and Santa Claus came for us a little earlier this year. We found him in Stara Zagora, at Spa Hotel Yagoda, where we had our Christmas Teambuilding and said goodbye to 2022 with style—and of course, a lot of fun.
Our COO as Santa & HR as Snow White
Santa Claus and Snow White—in this case, our COO and our HR manager—did everything to make sure we had the best possible time. We promise we’ll be good next year and won’t forget to send our home office notifications on time. You’re reading that, Misha, right?
Thanks to them, on a sunny December afternoon we found ourselves in:
- Nice, cozy rooms
- A beautiful village to explore
- The hotel’s spa center (thoroughly tested, 10/10 would recommend)
And then? The real fun began.

Secret Santa: Developer Edition
Santa was waiting for us with a big bag of presents for our traditional Secret Santa ritual. Once more this year, we proved there’s nothing more creative than a punctual software developer.

The packages contained all kinds of special stuff:
- Homemade magical liquids (you’ve probably heard of rakia…)
- The branded coffee cup from 2019 that we thought the cleaning lady had thrown out
- Mystery items that made everyone laugh
- Inflatable toys that definitely raised some questions
- …and much more

The best part? Watching everyone’s faces as they opened their gifts. Pure confusion mixed with delight. That’s the Secret Santa sweet spot.

The Shoe Size Incident
Our creativity is well known, so after we exchanged our presents, we finally understood why we’d received emails from HR stating that, according to new labor laws, our shoe size has to be recorded by the company.
Plot twist: We found ourselves with brand new matching pairs of shoes—just like brothers and sisters.
And like brothers and sisters, we fought over the other games that were prepared for us…
Food, Fun & Unity
The good thing is that food and fun can unite everyone. And that’s exactly what we did all night long.

The dinner was incredible—long table, great food, even better company. Someone proposed a toast every five minutes. By the end of dinner, we’d toasted to everything from successful deployments to Codi back home in Sofia.

Late-night conversations, spa sessions, games that got way too competitive, and the kind of bonding that only happens when you’re all wearing matching shoes in a spa hotel in December.
Our Recommendations
If you want a cozy experience with spa and quiet nature, we truly recommend Yagoda SPA hotel.
If you want to be part of such a nice and friendly collective, we recommend applying for a job at Codexio.
Fair warning: You might end up with matching shoes. But honestly? That’s part of the charm.
P.S. - Misha, we’re still working on those home office notifications. Baby steps.
