The Journey Begins
On Saturday, June 15th, 2023, the Codexio office in Sofia was unusually loaded. Sure, it was common for us to show up on Saturdays to give Codi a high paw or fix a production bug, but the entire company? That was new.
This wasn’t just another Saturday. This was our starting point—where we gathered to pack our suitcases, load up the cars, and embark on our next adventure: The Summer Teambuilding.
Stop One: Jolly Roger & Meat Duels
Our first stop made us feel like pirates. In less than 3 hours, we drove from Sofia to Burgas and hit up the iconic Jolly Roger restaurant on the port. We had an amazing lunch, engaged in duels with meat needles (yes, that happened), and after fueling up, we headed to our home for the next week: Arapya.

Through Dust, Mud, and Google Maps Chaos
We went through dust and mud, down different roads that challenged both our driving skills and Google Maps’ sanity. But in the end, we found ourselves at Cabo Villas.
And there? Our favorite HR team ladies were waiting with glasses of Moët.
You might think software developers only hug laptops and prefer debugging over everything else. But this atmosphere made us reconsider. Beach hugging? Maybe we’re into that too.
Seven Days of Luxury, Laptops & Legends
For those seven days, developers, managers, recruiters, and business analysts had fun as one. We lived in luxury houses, worked on the same projects, and honestly? We became a family. A happy, slightly chaotic one.
We had many occasions that challenged both our technical skills and our party spirit. We met each one with dignity (mostly). For example:
The Highlights (And Lowlights)
- ✅ We considered hacking the neighbor’s grasshopper
- ✅ We invited the policeman’s daughter to join our Software Engineering Survivor Internship Program
- ✅ We tried to drown our CTO in the pool at midnight on his birthday (spoiler: we failed)
- ✅ We had technical lectures with our CTO (drowning failed, so lectures succeeded) and CEO
- ✅ We had a singing and math competition that proved we can still be good developers even when lacking both skills
- ✅ We hosted the biggest company belot tournament in history
- ✅ We proved our company laptops are water and sand proof
- ✅ We made our client colleagues jealous by turning on the front camera during meetings
…and many, many more moments that are better experienced than explained.
Back to Reality (But With More Friendship)
Now we’re back in Sofia. There’s no sea here, but there’s the same amount of friendship that makes working easier and more fun, no matter where we are.
The beach might be 500km away, but the memories (and the inside jokes) are right here in the office.
Arapya, we’re coming back…
Want to Join Our Next Adventure?
If you want to be part of stories like this, check out our open positions. We promise: the teambuildings are worth the commute.
P.S. - Codi missed us the entire week. When we got back, he judged us appropriately.
